“I will look upon every circumstance of my life as a particular dealing of God with my soul.” (Rosicrucian Vow)
Temperance, Key 14 in the Tarot, represents the lesson of the 25th Kabbalistic Path of Intelligence on the Tree of Life. The Rosicrucian vow speaks to this path.
There is a continuous evaluation of your life from the way you perceive your highest spiritual goal. It is this goal and evaluation or measurement of yourself that often causes distress in your life. When your highest spiritual purpose is unbalanced or not being manifested according to some inner measurement you are likely to feel less than fulfilled.
When you listen to your inner guide or voice of deep inner knowing you are likely to remember your highest purpose or at least bring that purpose to the forefront of your subconscious awareness. It is then that you will be most likely to achieve it. As you become mindful of yourself in your daily life you are increasingly able to measure your alignment or balance to that of your inner voice and inner knowing. When it comes from there you move toward great fulfillment as you live your purpose and your highest spiritual goals congruently.
How well do you express and live applying the skills and goals you have set for yourself? As you become more and more conscious and as you set higher standards for yourself, the challenges before you also become more precise. The astrological ninth house, the house of Jupiter, Sagittarius, is the house of higher principles, ideas, ideals, and philosophies. The ninth house is a mutable house meaning that it brings change over time and changes with the needs and stage of the weltanschauung, i.e., the world view of the time either for the individual and/or for the collective.
Think about your friendships when you were a child. Think of your friendships now. Many of the things you brought to your friendships and your orientation to them as a child may remain, but many aspects of your friendships have changed, have they not?
Based on your position and values in your life and in your life purpose, your balance of personal and collective considerations will vary. In other words, what you do, how you do it, and how you think about it will vary as you move through the spiral of increasing consciousness. You are the one who measures. Yet, you can expect to challenge yourself and to be challenged according to your internal standard of measurement as it shifts with your consciousness. The more mindful, the more aware, and the more integrated you are, the easier it will become to find balance.
However, when challenged by circumstances and tested to the limits of your consciousness, it is important to go within your self to the space of inner balance that knows the highest purpose of the circumstance in which you find yourself. It is only from this place of mindful awareness that you can make a choice that honors both the higher self within and the right action of manifested expression for yourself.
When you are in any situation, it is auspicious to remember your “old” way of responding. Then, you can make a conscious mindful choice about how changing your response is likely to handle the challenge facing you in the best way. In all situations, there is an important interaction between the subconscious level of awareness and the superconscious level of awareness. You are the mediator who decides on your response. You have choice. You become the chooser. And, your choice to remain in a balanced place is a measure of your consciousness. It becomes visible for your advancement in consciousness and so you can make other choices as a self-correction in the future.
Attention, imagery, and activity are limitless within you. Only your inner process and thinking limit you. Pay attention to how you approach and put attention on attaining your goals. Bring your attention back to your approach and where your attention is as you go through your day. As you watch your expenditure of energy and pay attention throughout your day, ask: “What do I want to have happen? Then, ask: “And what do I know now?”
When you follow these guidelines, you challenge your lower mind or instinctive unconscious responses because you apply a discerning mind to your choices. Remember, that fine discernments are necessary if you want to gain clarity and consciousness. Awareness is a process.
Move forward and avoid looking back, except to learn from your experiences. Learning from the past is the purpose of remembering. How you think and the words you use internally are key in how you interpret events and relationships. Use deliberate creative intelligence in everything you think, say, and do. As you increasingly recognize the spiritual goals and life purposes threading through everything you think, say, and do your level of consciousness and balance, both internally and externally, grow in strength. Only through manifesting with awareness the spiritual purpose in your life do you have a measurement of your progress in consciousness.
Be cognizant of the responsibility that comes with awareness. As you move in balanced consciousness and live truly from that place of manifestation, it is ever more critical that you perceive the impact and effect you have on those in your immediate life as well as the repercussions of your energy on the collective. We are all one and you matter.
Note your successes rather than your imperfections in accomplishing your goals. They build success allowing you to self-correct in reaching toward your future goals. More forward with unity, love and harmony, and maintain your purpose despite setbacks. Keep practicing awareness and balance and it will be yours.
